Cookie notice
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as browser and session storage) used on https://trovato.ai, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and ICO guidance. It sits alongside our privacy notice (/legal/privacy).
How we ask for consent
When you first visit, a banner lets you 'Accept all' or choose 'Essential only'. Strictly necessary cookies and storage are always on because the site cannot work without them — these do not require consent. Nothing non-essential is set until you opt in. By default our analytics run in a cookieless, anonymous mode (Google Consent Mode v2); we only set analytics cookies if you accept them. You can change your mind at any time (see 'Managing your choice').
Strictly necessary cookies and storage
These keep the site working and remember your choices. They cannot be switched off through the banner.
- trovato-consent (browser local storage, first-party) — remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again. Persists until you clear it.
- trovato-theme (browser local storage, first-party) — remembers your light/dark theme preference. Persists until you clear it.
- trovato-campaign (browser session storage, first-party) — temporarily remembers the campaign link you arrived through so a form you submit is attributed correctly. Cleared when you close the tab.
- trovato_admin (cookie, first-party) — signs in authorised staff to the admin area; only ever set after an admin logs in. Session-based.
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
If you 'Accept all', we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site. Until you consent, analytics run without cookies and without identifying you. If you accept, Google sets first-party cookies on our behalf:
- _ga (first-party) — distinguishes one visitor from another. Lasts up to 2 years.
- _ga_<id> (first-party) — keeps session state for our specific GA property. Lasts up to 2 years.
Who Google is to us
Google acts as our processor for analytics and processes data on our instructions; analytics data may be processed outside the UK under appropriate safeguards (see the international-transfers section of our privacy notice). You can read Google's own policy at policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Managing your choice
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies and storage in your browser, which makes the banner appear again so you can choose afresh. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings — though blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
