Anchored to the source
Each claim ties to the exact passage in the underlying document, then highlights it on click-through — including on scanned pages and Word files, which are rendered to a preview so they carry real page geometry.

01What it is
Every rendered output in Trovato — an answer, a wiki entry, a review cell, an amendment, a draft segment, a workflow artifact — resolves to a citation anchor on a raw source. Outputs whose citations can't be verified are dropped, never shown.

02In detail
Each claim ties to the exact passage in the underlying document, then highlights it on click-through — including on scanned pages and Word files, which are rendered to a preview so they carry real page geometry.
If an output can't be resolved to a source it doesn't render, and the count of dropped citations is recorded. There is no “trust me” state to fall back on.
A draft exported to Word carries real footnotes naming the document, the clause and the page. A citation that only works while you are logged in is not traceability.
The same guarantee covers review cells, wiki entries, amendments and workflow outputs — and a knowledge entry with no resolvable source is refused before it is ever written.

04Why it matters
How it fits the matter
Because provenance is enforced at render time and again at export, a partner can sign off knowing every line traces back to something they — or their client — can open.
A short, tailored walkthrough — the citation firewall, the Matter Wiki, and a supervised agent, working on the kind of matter you run.
